Rebecca Tickle

Hello Everyone! I'm Rebecca.

I'm 22 years old and I LOVE to sew - though I do have other passions such as Singing, Art & Photography, Sewing is my favourite. I have been sewing for over 2 years now and I thought it would be nice to share with you all my Sewing 'Origin' Story.

I first got into sewing in early 2017 where I somehow wound up attending a local 1:1 sewing lesson for my Mum – surprisingly one lesson was all it took for me and I decided to attend more lessons. Over the first year my skills rapidly improved and I was attempting things I thought were impossible. Sewing remained 'just a hobby' until early 2018, after hitting rough times with my current voluntary work, I decided that a change of career was needed.

My new dream was to create my very own sewing business, but I knew that I would need to gain a lot more skills and knowledge and fast if I was to make that dream a reality. Luckily enough, I found and enrolled onto an online City & Guilds Patchwork & Quilting Course at the School of Stitched Textiles in Spring 2018, and by August, I had achieved my Level 2 Patchwork & Quilting qualification. I went on to study for the Level 3 Patchwork & Quilting in early September 2018 and I am currently three quarters of the way through the course.

While all this was going on, I began to create, design and produce my business, and after nearly 12 months of preparation, I am proud to say that in July 2019 'Sew-Drops Ltd.' was born! An online sewing business run by myself and my Mum where you can purchase 100% Quilting Fabrics from brands such as Liberty, Free Spirit, Lewis & Irene, and Windham.

Sew-Drops also stocks a variety of gorgeous felt craft kits from Corinne Lapierre and will be offering Homemade Gifts, created by myself, in the near future (so keep an eye out for them).

I hope you have enjoyed reading about me and my Sewing 'Origin Story' and I hope that I have inspired some of you too. I am extremely proud of how much I have achieved in such a small scale of time and I will continue to progress and develop in my sewing skills for a very long time.
